I shop on Sunday mornings

Sunday morning grocery store shoppers are my people. The early crew, the crew that gets up before sunrise to go shopping at a leisurely pace, before the late-morning and afternoon shoppers arrive. It’s calm. People greet each other. There’s not a kid in the store. Mostly old men, from what I’ve noticed.

This was the sunrise on the way to the grocery store this morning. A burst of warmth behind an old home near the old farm on campus. An orange and pink explosion over the football field. A vibrant gradient, seen from my back door.

It’s nice to start the day off with such beautiful light!
