I have a heartfelt welcome for November this year. This month I’m intentionally focusing on what I’m thinking about, what I’m giving my attention to, what I’m giving my energy.
The girls in my home are struggling big time right now. That happens as predictably as the seasons, but in the midst of these times it can be hard to take captive every thought.
So this month I am turning my attention to whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and worthy of praise. These are the things I’m choosing to think about.
It can be hard, especially when circumstances are hard. But it’s a part of learning what it means to value mercy over sacrifice. And as the years go by I think I’m closer to understanding what that means.
Love is shining through all things. Find pleasure in that truth and it will be easier to notice the light.
