Hope assumes grief

Hope assumes grief, or at least discomfort. It acknowledges that things aren’t the way they should be, or could be, even. But hope gives us space to believe, to have faith, which then empowers our love and brings us peace.

Hope is not about reason. The Incarnation is unreasonable. But it’s the foundation of my hope, and faith, and love. It’s the only way I’ve found to have peace in this world.
