Today it was even hotter than it was yesterday.
Sarah and I watched another movie. (It was pretty good.)
Then I played football with the guys. (It was really hot!)
Then Sarah got a flat tire at 12:30 AM, and I sat around waiting for someone to come fix it.

P.S. If you ever want to know what it feels like to be useless, just
sit around waiting for someone to come fix your girlfriend’s car. It will satisfy that
feeling.
Stepping Back 
You were not useless. You gave me peace of mind that I wasn’t going to get attacked or anything, and someone to talk to.If you hadn’t been there I would have been scared and really nervous. It was really great of you to come. It wasn’t your fault that I’d already called the guy.
Also a way to feel pretty useless: one time Jessica called at about 2:30am or so in the middle of a snowstorm because her car got stuck in the snow. So I walked maybe a mile point five to get there in about 4 or 5 layers of clothes. After trying to clear the snow away from the tires, I realized she was stuck because she had a flat tire. So then Jessica changed it.When it came time to get the spare tire, we found that it was frozen to the inside of the trunk, and we couldn’t get it out. Luckily, it was Bloomington on a weekend, so there were plenty of drunk people still awake at that hour, and one apartment gave me a bowl of hot water to melt the tire out. I guess I wasn’t completely useless.So in the end, she changed a tire, and I went to fetch water. How’s that for preconceived gender roles?

I know what you mean with the whole change a tire thing…actually being useless isn’t so bad because really you could have tried to change the tire and failed miserably! So by voting to not even attempt the tire change you can spare yourself even more embaressment in the future. Ah I can see it now. Some Christmas gathering in about 20 years…”so remember that time when you failed miserably at doing the one thing that all guys are supposed to know how to do?” Good choice my friend…good choice…
